🇰🇪 Masai Mara National Reserve

Masai Mara is Kenya’s most popular national park.

Masai Mara is Kenya’s most famous safari destination and one of the best known wildlife areas in the world. Its vast savannas, green river corridors, and incredible abundance of animals make it a classic safari experience.

Wildebeest migration

The highlight of Masai Mara is the massive annual migration of wildebeest and zebras. Millions of animals cross the Mara River from around July and August to October, and Nile crocodiles are often seen in the river.

  • African wild dog: extremely rare / practically not seen

  • Ostriches: common

  • Warthog: common

  • Mongooses (called mangusti in Finnish, Timon!) are common and charming sightings.

🇰🇪 Lake Nakuru National Park

Nakuru’s nature feels like Skull Island from King Kong, where everything seems unique, rare, and extraordinary.

Nakuru is known above all for its rhinos and, in the past, its flamingos. It is a compact area where you can see a lot in a short time.

The number of flamingos varies depending on the water level.

🇰🇪 Hell’s Gate National Park and Lake Naivasha

Hell’s Gate is exceptional for its cycling routes.

Lake Naivasha is a favorite for birdwatchers and for travelers who enjoy a more relaxed nature experience. Hell’s Gate is known for its dramatic cliffs, valleys, and the chance to explore the area on foot or by bicycle.

🇰🇪 Amboseli National Park

Amboseli is an elephant paradise and one of the best places to see Mount Kilimanjaro in clear weather.
